Upon his call to the Bar in 1997, he commenced practice with Messrs. Jahara Radzi & May Chan and thereafter in 1999, he joined Messrs. B.C Teh & Yeoh. In 2002, he joined Messrs. KhooHeng Choon & Co. and was made a partner thereafter of the firm in 2003. In 2004, he joined M/s Kamarudin & Partners as a partner to set up and manage their Penang Branch. In 2009 he joined Gibb & Co as a partner to set up the Penang Branch and is now the Managing Partner of the Branch.

His area of Practice involving Consumer & Commercial Banking Litigation has seen him successfully defend Financial Institutions from lawsuits as well as having represented them in debt recovery and enforcement proceedings for both conventional and Islamic financing. He has also served as Lead Counsel in a number of cases involving Shareholders disputes as well as matters pertaining to Professional Negligence Cases both in the High Court as well as the Appellate Courts which has seen it reported in the local law Journals.

He has also successfully litigated on matters concerning breach of contract and disputes involving Land including issues on land encroachment, state land acquisition and land references.

He has further drafted numerous Commercial Agreements including Joint Venture Agreements and represented Clients in international transactions to purchase Commercial Properties situated overseas.

Together with members of the Firm’s Senior Litigation Team, he leads on matters concerning Construction Law which includes Alternative Dispute Resolution and arbitration matters that extends to Construction Industry Payment and Adjudication Act (CIPAA) 2012.

He was the Lead Counsel in both the Court Of Appeal and Federal Court case which are now reported respectively as LOH CHIAK EONG & ANOR V LOK KOK BENG & ORS [2013] 1 MLJ 27 and LOK KOK BENG & 49 ORS V LOH CHIAK EONG & ANOR [2015] 4 MLJ 734 which determined the extent of Professional Negligence in the Construction Industry.

He has conducted numerous trainings for banks and developers and has sat in for discussions with the Penang Real Estate & Housing Developers’ Association (REHDA) on the issues of development in the Penang State. Together with members of the Firm’s Senior Litigation Team, he has conducted training programme for the PersatuanArkitek Malaysia-Northern Chapter on matters concerning the extent of Professional Negligence to the Architectural Industry in Malaysia.
